Core Leadership

Sissi Zhao (She/Her)
Executive Director
Sissi is a junior at Crofton House School who is passionate about languages and the mind. She is particularly interested in the intersection of public policy and healthcare equality, which are areas Fluent in Minds strives to target and benefit. While not a professionally trained translator, she has been the designated translator of the house since her family immigrated to Canada when she was 6. Outside of her academic commitments, Sissi loves striking up random conversations with strangers, playing Ghibli pieces on the flute, and hopping on skytrains with no destination in mind.

Aeris Wren (They/Them)
Administrative Director
A junior at Crofton House School, Aeris, or Wren, is delighted to serve as the Administrative Director at FiM. Their primary interests lie in behavioural sciences and psychology, with a particular focus on mental health, capturing their intense fascination with the body and mind. If they aren’t holed up in their room finishing Sissi’s administrative tasks, you can find them feeding their many pets, collecting enamel pins, and/or experiencing the anxiety levels of an animal being hunted for sport.

Daikon (Any/All)
Mascot and Morale Director
Meet Daikon, our messenger pigeon mascot, inspired by the historical role of pigeons as carriers of important messages! Like Daikon, our organization connects languages and bridges cultures to make mental health support more accessible. The daisy on his head symbolizes growth, continuous improvement, and our commitment to mental wellness and awareness.
We hope Daikon inspires connection, progress, and community wherever he goes

When Nicole is not coding, you can find her reading at the park near her house, winning mobile games, or lounging on the beach with friends.
